Too much, too good, too late

The beginning of September has brought a killing in the CSA. I almost don't want to leave for Istanbul because of all the amazing food we have.

This week:
swiss chard,
vareity pack of peppers,
4lbs of tomatoes,
radishes,
watermelon,
carrots,
leeks,
lettuce,
cucumbers,
garlic

Do you see what I mean ?

We have these little black bell peppers that have a funny kick, not hot, not sweet, close to spicy. I like them because of their nimble size. I enjoy having that color in my salad too. Last night we had a lovely Sunday night dinner with just James and I. He made grilled chicken, whole wheat spetzel, radishes, and swiss chard with roasted peppers and tomatoes. I don't know what he did to the radishes, perhaps it was lots of butter. You wouldn't think that radishes could taste like a vegetable you would be willing to eat more often.

I am looking forward to going to the local markets in Istanbul and taste testing the seasonal fruits and vegetables. No doubt I will be posting my adventures from Istanbul, both foodie and not.
