Major Part II

I have a super hero power. I have moments with strangers. A few minutes of meaningful conversation, a few jokes, a warm smile, a secret shared. These moments happen at random, waiting for a light to change, standing in line, riding an elevator, waiting for the subway. I look forward to these moments, they are what keep me going in this city. The slight glimpse at the soul of people who I seemingly share nothing in common with besides the sidewalk. Today I had a moment with woman at the CSA. She stands out among the couples of 20 and 30 somethings, most of them tattooed and toting canvas bags. She is probably in her 50's, she wears a pair of big vintage sunglasses and is very outgoing (this makes her especially noticeable as most people in Williamsburg prefer to frown). She seems to be absolutely in love with the CSA (as am I) , and the garden it happens in. Pig was the the reason, as he is generally a conversation starter.
She remarked, "That is a strange looking dog. I don't like dogs, but he is intriguing."
" Do you like cats?" I replied. (She looks like a cat lady).
"No, I don't really like animals. I like human babies."
Usually I am pretty good at keeping a conversation going, but at this moment all I could do was repeat "I like human babies" over and over in my head. Then she took her heirloom and pretend to eat it like an apple.
There was more exchange between us but I can't remember anything after " I like human babies."

My tie dye tomato was delicious and I am pretty sure it is what pulled me out of my day long haze.

I like human babies.
